Which funnel platform should you build on?
An honest comparison of the five ways to build a sales funnel, who each suits, and the one we recommend for most first funnels.
The five options
| Platform | What it is | Strengths | Trade-offs |
|---|---|---|---|
| ClickFunnels | Pages, checkout, order bumps, one-click upsells, email and courses in one subscription | Best fit for info-products, coaching and launches; no plugins to maintain | Monthly fee; less design freedom than a custom site |
| WordPress + WooCommerce | Own everything on a site you already run | Lowest cost at scale, unlimited customisation | You assemble and maintain the plugin stack; upsell flows need extra tools |
| Shopify | Physical-product stores | Best product checkout and shipping tools | Not built for webinars, applications or info-product funnels |
| Kajabi / Kartra | Course-first businesses | Course delivery plus funnels and email | Higher price; funnel flexibility varies |
| Leadpages / Carrd / Systeme | Simple opt-in funnels on a small budget | Cheap and fast | Weak checkout, bumps and upsells |
Our recommendation
If you sell information, coaching or services and want order bumps, one-click upsells and email follow-up working from day one without stitching tools together, build on ClickFunnels. If you already run a WordPress site and are comfortable maintaining plugins, stay on WordPress. If you sell physical products, use Shopify.
